As you probably know, there was a military coup in Honduras fairly recently, and the democratically elected president has been forced to take refuge in the Brazilian embassy. This is the kind of Pinochet-like thing that we thought was over in Latin America, but it isn't.
What I hadn't realized is that there is a gay side to this too--a gay activist was just killed in the demonstrations against the military take-over. Read all about it at IGHRC.
The article says this is the sixteenth murder since the military coup. I fear this violence is just going to continue until someone tries to do something about it.
