These videos are meant to recap some of the ideas that were mentioned by Sunday's speaker. Both clips have a religious component that supports their beliefs on homosexuality. One video portrays homsexuality as a sin, while the other shows one of the very few Nigerian initaitives in favor of gay rights.

Seeing as I applied to Wheaton College, I am a bit disturbed that they would host Archbishop Peter Akinola. It is upsetting that the Archbishop is getting support from an American college. It seems that America is supposed to be the place where homosexual Nigerians can find refuge and here it is not being presented as such.
ReplyDeleteI was also not aware of the severity of being homosexual in Nigeria. The video you posted, paired with the talk last Sunday has really opened my eyes.
I do agree with you, however I know that being the "devil's advocate" is appreciated in this class, so I'll take that role for a second. America seems to be a place full of contradictions, so it makes sense that Wheaton College did this. Not only that, but in 2007 (as I'm sure many of you know), President Ahmadinejad spoke at Columbia University, and clearly much controversy followed afterwards.
